My philosophy of education is that all are capable of learning: children, parents, and school staff. I believe that the student's parents, or guardians, are partners with the student and me in the student's education. I especially want my students to realize that learning is a life long process. My role as the teacher is to facilitate the learning, so each child can function successfully in an increasingly global society. My expectations will always be communicated to the students clearly. I believe the language in my classroom should encourage communication. I also believe that student discipline should be consistent, fair, firm, and swift. In this way, I will maintain an active learning environment where students can learn accountability to others and themselves by interaction in groups and individual activities. The invitation to build relationships in my class will affirm my belief that the school environment should be safe, secure, and encourage learning and excellence. The major achievements I hope that my students display by the end of the school year are both academic and personal in nature.
