Childhood
I was born and raised in a Burton, Michigan. While living in Burton with my
parents, I attended schools within the Bendle School District. I attended South
Bendle Elementary, T.N. Lamb Middle School, and Bendle High School.
Schooling
After graduating Bendle High School, I attended the University
of Michigan, Flint for a teaching degree. While there, I obtained a Bachelors
of Science in Education, with Math and Science minors. I also received an early
childhood (ZA) endorsement. While attending UM, Flint, I joined the Alpha Theta
Chi sorority. This sorority is very community service driven. While part of
this sorority, I completed over 300 hours of volunteer
work.
Employment
While attending college, I got a job at LensCrafters, but stopped working there
after 7 years of service. Also during college, I was a JV
Cheerleading Coach at Linden schools. After graduation from University of
Michigan, Flint, I took a teaching position at Francis Reh Public School Academy
as a Computer Teacher. After working there two years, I was able to secure a
better teaching job at Linden Public Schools working as a special education
teacher at Argentine Elementary.
Family
In October 1998, I met a guy named Vince (Vinny), and we started dating. Four
and a half years later, we tied the knot (June 14, 2003). Vinny and I have a
lot of fun together. We goof off a lot together, and it's a blast. On May 11,
2006, our first child, Liam Alexander, was born. Two years later, we were blessed
with another child, Ashlyn Mariella on May 1, 2008. We love them both dearly and
cherish every minute we have with them.
